We tell German readers the stories of Asia.
For example the story of the Asian Lucky Cat.
Shopkeepers in Asia put the beckoning cat in their shop windows to bring good luck. If the cat raises its right paw it supposedly attracts money, while a raised left paw attracts customers. Its colours are typical: gold is associated with wealth, red with luck. Legend tells, that the cat saved the life of a wealthy feudal lord. It beckoned to him from the door of a temple. The lord followed the invitation and thus escaped a stroke of lightning. The thankful lord made the temple rich. Today "Maneki Neko" is not only found in its country of origin Japan, but throughout Asia und even in Germany. We hope, it could beckon you in, too.
